We went for a two tank dive at Cabo Pulmo with Adriana (http://www.scubadivingincabo.com/). The first dive was at La Experanza to about 70 feet for 45 minutes. Vis was excellent, lots of eels - all out of their rocks and crannies, plus a fly by from a big turtle. Not 100% sure what kind, but Judy thinks an Olive Ridley. Second dive was at Los Morros, this was supposed to be just a quick snorkel before our second dive, but it looked so great we went back to the boat, got our second tanks, and did the dive right there. About 55 feet for just over 40 minutes. We found a ray in the sand right where we dropped down, and then a huge school of jacks - so many it actually went dark due to the fish obscuring the sun. Adriana managed to swim into the middle and it looked like a hurricane with her in the eye! Then back for lunch at Cabo Pulmo!
One dive, November 3 2012, Gordo Banks
We went for a single tank dive just offshore San Jose at the Gordo Banks. This is a submarine sea mount that often has schooling hammerhead sharks. Unfortunately for us, not on the day we visited. This is a deep dive that starts at 130 feet (we hit 137 max) and then slowly rises to about 95 feet. 34 minutes for the complete dive. Although no sharks, we did see more eels, star fish, and sea urchins. We were supposed to do a second dive, on a wreck or just outside the marina, but the vis was so bad in both locations it wasn’t worth it.
